Here’s an energy efficiency story from one of our members, Sally
I recently moved to a next-door flat in Brisbane city, as it has ceiling fans. One is in the lounge and another in the bedroom. Living on the top floor is well insulated, which is helpful & welcome on cooler days, but very hot and uncomfortable on hot days, which there are more of here. I also purchased a desk fan, with oscillating modes, which I easily move to the kitchen when cooking, which is very helpful and has 3 settings. I reused a square shaped door mat upside down on my carpeted bedroom floor under my desk, for coolness under feet. I have plans to add easy fix in shade screens on the bedroom window, lounge windows, and front and back doors (which is easily removable) to maximise on fresh air.
